If OS and DB source and target system is same:
1. migration to 64 bit (make sure your hardware is 64bit), adjust your
profile parameter and memory config for APP and DB accordingly
2. SAP Technical Upgrade to ECC6 EHP4
3. Unicode conversion

I am at the start of a job upgrading a windows/oracle 32bit based R3 Enterprise system to ERP6 EHP4 on 64bit windows/oracle. I also need to do a Unicode conversion. There are quite a lot of variables to consider and I would like some input on the correct path to follow. I would like the quickest way, hardware resources should not be a consideration. It is a central system, no dialog instances.
Would the correct order be 1) upgrade 32 bit R3E to 32 bit ERP6.04, 2) Export data and 3) import to 64 bit ERP6.04 while doing the unicode conversion in the process?
Or would it make more sense to 1) system copy to 64bit hardware 2) upgrade to ERP6.04 and unicode convert in one go? Is that even possible?
Does the fact that I am starting on 32bit limit my options? I know fresh installs are not possible on 32bit anymore (at least without some creativity) but are upgrades to this level still possible?
