Hello Harsha,

SLEEP mode is more a symptom than a root cause... The work process is waiting for a response, maybe an RFC? SAP Note 507776 (Status SLEEP in SM50) will provide further information.

The Background job is scheduled and its status is active but when we look into the workprocess in sm50 for this BTC it shows stopped and ststus is SLEEP,
