Hi Morise,

Further to add to Sai_Krishna's points, you can activate the material to batch management if the material is created new and has no dependencies like

1. No open Purchase documents
2. No stocks
3. No BOM
4. No production orders ( if they are manufactured also)
5. No sale orders ( if by chance they are also sold)
6. No PP routings

etc.

Please note that even if the material is delivered by a PO and item is closed, it needs to be deleted to make it free from dependencies.

Pl try some test materials to get a good grip of the subject and confirm.

Yes you can. Bring the book stock to zero. Activate batch management for the material and bring back the initial qty to book stock.
