Found Note 70547 which says:

Note : If the import of a transport request has terminated, changes have not yet been made in the client, and import postprocessing has not been started for that transport request in this system (not even at an earlier time or in another client), the transport request can also be restarted without unconditional mode 1. This has the effect that tables already imported are not imported again. The TMS, however, automatically sets U18 for client transports. That is why the import has to be made directly via the tp in this case: tp import <SId>KTnnn clientxxx <SId> u8

As the import was stopped due to ORA errors, if I re-run the import via STMS, it will use U18 for the import.

Should I run tp directly from OS (tp import <SId>KTnnn clientxxx <SId> u8 ) so that it will resume from where it left?

Subject: Client Refresh from PRD to QAS

Hi,

I am doing a client refresh from PRD to QAS. Size of client is 150GB. Exported the PRD client using SCC8 and imported it to QAS via STMS. The client import took more than 1 day and generated many redo logs which filled up my archive log directory, hence I terminated the process.

1) Is there a way for me to estimate how much redo logs will be created during the import?

2) I am also looking at ways to speed up the client import. Will it help if I were to delete the present client first before importing the new client instead of overwriting it?

Thank you.
