Hello,
Never consider this, but if you want to plan the shipment/transportation. Then you need to know how long it will take from A to B. Something from SAP help:
If the shipment planning status of the delivery is not "transportation-relevant", check the following items:
If the delivery type is marked as transportation-relevant, proceed to the Implementation Guide, and, under Logistics Execution Transportation Shipments Maintain Transportation Relevance, choose the activity Maintain transportation relevance for delivery types.
If a route is entered in the delivery, and the route is marked as relevant for transportation, proceed in the Implementation Guide under Logistics Execution Transportation Shipments Maintain Transportation Relevance and choose the activity Maintain transportation relevance for routes.

I checked configuration and the delivery order type and item categories are configured for Transportation Relevance, but when I create a delivery order, the "Transportation Relevant" box is blank and greyed out. The only way I can get around this is by assigning a Route to the delivery order. Once I do that (route in IMG is set to transportation relevant) the transportation relevance is set to A and I can assign the D/O to a shipment.
So my question is: am I force to use Routes in delivery orders in order to enable the transportation relevant function, or is there some setting in the IMG I am overlooking where I can turn off route from being required for the delivery order to be transportation relevant?
Notes: --> using ECC 6.0 --> Not using transportation functionality, so nothing is configured beyond standard SAP, except that we do use routes in stock transport orders --> I had at one point the IMG configured so routes were not transportation relevant (only delivery order and item categories were set as transport relevant), but SAP still refused to mark the D/O for transportation relevant.
