Hi
It may be due to retro changes, which result in tax revised for the previous periods. Hence this period, the total tax would change, even though the taxable gross for the period is same.
Or it may be due to the taxable gross changed in a period.
I am not sure if your system has been customized to review the year-to-date(YTD) total tax paid in each period, then recalculate the tax payable based on the current YTD taxable gross pay plus projected taxable gross pay till the end of year.
