Are we getting side-tracked here? Agree with your stand about what would
prompt you to provide the full solution.
This is the ittoolbox forum where those who know help those who don't. Why
would one worry about the recognitions through achievement statuses? I
can't put my achievement status in this board on my resume and expect my
client to even look at it. So, why bother who gets what.
Sharing knowledge of the SAP functionalities cannot be a threat to anyone's
job security. The more you share, the more you learn. Moreover, you are
sharing just one small bit of your vast knowledge base. It helps one person
to manage his/her difficult day rather than build a career. To be competing
with you, the person should have the same or more depth and breadth of your
commendable knowledge. I am sure that nobody is going to be competing with
you for the next contract after learning a trick or two from you. One
would need a huge lot more than the knowledge that one gains from this board
to be a good consultant. Since I seldom implement the same solution again,
which generally are extremely complex, I have always felt at ease doing as
detailed a knowledge transfer as possible so that I wouldn't need to
revisit it later while I am engaged on a different challenge. What you have
done in the past helps others to judge what you can do in the future.
Let us put all those distractions aside and keep helping as we can!
