I believe your reply is self-explanatory.
If you've got the error last time, which you deduce is Kernel related, you should have already done this update before starting with your Export/import.

SAPinst looks to have already passed the import dialog steps and is currently in midst of the Phase execution.

I would quote an earlier instance during SAPup, where it hit an error, which mentioned updating R3trans. I had then done so, but only after this error.
The next time round when upgrading our Dev System, i had updated R3trans prior to starting.
