SAP is correctly blocking the material so that data consistency can be ensured for it. If the lock was not in place during multiple updates against the material then one user update would get over-written by another user's update. User's should complete the material update transaction as soon as possible. They should not start a transaction and leave it hanging. ---------------Original Message--------------- From: Yogendra Wagh Sent: Tuesday, August 24, 2010 3:39 PM Subject: M3897: The plant data of the material 35001615 is locked by the user USERA > Client purchases green leaf from farmers in the form of bales of fixed size. > The receiving stations where green leaf is received are identified as a storage location in SAP. Multiple, such storage locations have been defined in SAP under ONE PLANT > Green leaf is identified as a unique Material (Material Type: ROH) in SAP. > Each material is activated for batch management. > Each bale has a different set of characteristic value (ex. weight, moisture content, position of leaf on stem etc) and hence identified as a unique batch in SAP. > Batch number is uniquely assigned to a bale. No batch number ever gets repeated. > Material Valuation is at plant level > > We are facing a problem of material getting locked, when same material with different batches are used in different transactions such as PGR, outbound delivery, PGI, Physical Inventory etc at the same time. > > Did any of you ever come across any a such situation where material gets locked when simultaneous posting are carried out to the same material but different batches. > > The error message that we get is as follows: > > Message no. M3897: The plant data of the material 35001615 is locked by the user USERA > > Material block is currently set at Exclusive block. > > Appreciate any help on this issue. We are looking for a solution that would allow posting of all the transactions without any locking issue | __.____._ Copyright © 2010 Toolbox.com and message author. Toolbox.com 4343 N.
