Hi Rohit

The coding block is the section of a GL account posting that contains additional account assignments, such as Cost Center or Internal Order or Profit Center or Profitability Segment or WBS Element.

What determines which additional piece is used / needs to be used is partly how that GL account is configured, along with which other modules of SAP you are running. So if you are running CO-PA, then typically the GL posting will also require the entry or derivation of a Profitability Segment to go with it. If the GL account is a cost element, then you need a Cost Center or Internal Order or WBS Element to go with it. If it is a revenue element then it needs a Profit Center to go with it.
