It is acceptable to use a Service account to run background jobs

I've realised it really depends on what the contract says, which will define how you use various user accounts and whether licenses are needed. Thanks anyway.

Another question for a guru like you:

Are there any ways of using a non-dialog account (e.g. service account) to schedule jobs in production?
