Hi everyone

In PA30 or PA20, when you try to maintain or display an infotype with "Period" selected, then if you leave period from/to dates blank, the system assumes current system period. If there is no data, you get the message you are referring to.

If you want to see an infotype in the past or future, then you need to enter the period dates. Or you select "All", then you need to navigate through each transaction, then change as you want, or go to overview and select the one you want to display/maintain.

This is normal behaviour. There is no user exit involved here.
