It really depends upon how you setup your configuration. Its possible to set up SAP in support of both models; to require approval of time entered, as well as acceptance of entry as sufficient approval. If you have configured for approved time already, you may want to visit your requirements before changing the setup to support both unapproved and approved entry.

Or...can it only process time which has been approved? I am needing to know as I would like to process both, if possible. Thanks!
