Hi JG,

I wil try to explain the background more in detail to you:

1. There was a WS rule which had certain employees in it and they are
eligible for hourly quota in IT2006. so I was using the absence type XYZW to
book an absence in IT2001 but it was not deducting against the houly quota.
So I checked the DWS class of the DWS and found that it is "0" and there was
no correspnding counting rule in T556C where the DWS class "0" was ticked.
So I created a "new" counting rule 004 for the corresponding ESG and PSG
groupings with the DWS class "0" ticked this time. This solved the problem
and the hourly quota was being deducted when I record absence XYZW.

2. Now what happened was I was also able to book an absence type ABCD in
days but good part is that it was "not" deducting the quota but just
creating a record in IT2001. So to prevent this, I deleted the corresponding
counting rule 001 so that it throws an error when users try to book IT2001
using absence ABCD. But I forgot the fact that the same counting rule is
being used for other employees and it messed up their absence booking as
well an was throwing an error when trying to book ABCD.

Coming to solution which I found:

3. I reverted the changes done in step # 1 above, meaing I deleted the new
counting rule 004 which I created but instead used an existing counting rule
which was already configured for the same groupings and just ticked the DWS
class "0", there itself. Also re-created the deleted counting rule 001
mentioned in step # 2.

This solved both the problems i.e, I am now not able to use ABCD against an
hourly quota and the SAP standard errror "No quota available for att./abs.
ABCD for pers. no. XXXXX between 21.05.2010 and 21.05.2010"" appears in
IT2001. Also I am now able to book XYZW and deduct against the hourly quota.

What I am failing to understand here is, the problem explained in step # 1
was solved when I used the existing counting rule by checking the box DWS
class 0 and the problem was not solved when created a new counting rule
checking the box DWS class 0.

DO you think you can throw some light here to clear my confusion.

Regards
Nick.
