Need more details about your requirement. We use the hierarchy as different levels in the hierarchy will determine pricing for some of our BIG customers. If the grouping is very simple (one level) then maybe a customer group 1 to 5 can be utilised instead, but if your using the customer groups for pricing then you need to add the fields into the pricing userexit as well.
