Hi Sadiq,
In addition to checking for core dumps also check the tmp directories for large files. Also check to make sure the delete portion of the backup/delete is working. Are the archive logs being cleared correctly? Did the cleanup work get done in the install directories? This may gain back enough space so you and your team don't have to rush into a poorly thought decision.
