Ou said you were uploading a file using ws_upload in that program. If you're doing so, in foreground it will be fine and in backgroupd you'll have a shortdump as there is no gui active. No matter if you have the chance of running it in foreground/background. There is a restriction on ws_upload/gui_upload FM's. they can only run if you have a presentation server active (i.e. a pc).

Sorry Horacio, I should have explained my question in more detail.
I run my program in foreground then it will create BDC session. Now in SM35 , I will see that session created by my program, this one here I have option to chose either foreground/background. When I chose foregrond it works fine, but in back ground mode , i got the error message.
i believe, there is no link to my program for back ground process there are two seperate steps involved.
Step 1. Run program 'PRGA' in foreground the output is session name 'ZVA31' will be created.
step2: i goto, SM35, here i run the session'ZVA31' in background mode.
Will this still cause to get that error?...
Thanks for your replies..
