Hi Jeff; I found myself in the same boat and started looking thru SAP docs. Am not finding much. But here are my thoughts - since SMDAgent default directory (/usr/sap/SMD) is part of the /usr/sap Filesystem; therefore it will move to the failover node as part of the SAP CI package failover. With that as long as the SMDAgent stop/start scripts under script directory are excecuted properly by the cluster then it should be fine.
Main point is if the SMDAgnet host is installed w/ virtual hostname.

let me know what you end up finding.

Subject: SAP Host Agent in Unix Failover

> I am installing the standalone SAP Host Agent for Solution Manager Diagnostics. I have several failover environments in which this will be running on Unix. Is there anything special for the host agent in failover? I know for the Diagnostics Agent you need to create a shared filesystem /DAA to install and then incorporate it in your scripts. Would the same apply for the Host Agent? Just create the shared /usr/sap/hostctrl? I can't find any SAP docs on failover for this app.<br/>Thanks,<br/>Jeff
