Toolbox sap-hrHi JG!
We have run payroll in SAP effective from October 2009. But now we need to effect some promotions involving changes in Employee group with retrospective date prior to October 2009. Is there a way out?

Hi Sreelekha,
As Kanuku said, you can re-execute the action you have done on an earlier date. However you can do this - provided the org assignment was part of the infogroup of the action done earlier and you want the change in EG or ESG from that date. Please note also this would result in retro of time eval and payroll. Further if the change in EG or ESG results in change in groupings for DWS, time recording, or any other - then you need to ensure that the IT 7 may has the correct WSR, etc. In any case, you need to run time eval and payroll and ensure they are ok.
If you want to change EG or ESG from a date different from the last change, then you have to execute PA40. Usually these are not changeable in PA30.
In any case, what is the reason for not doing PA40?
Hope this helps.
Regards, JG
