Just found this in the SAP Forums:
Before saving a document there is no possibility to get the sum of a column
by FMS.
The references to the current data in an FMS ( $[ . . . ) can refer only to
the data from the header or from the current row, as is what you are
experiencing.
You can only sum the column of a saved document, getting the data from the
data base using the document identifier from the header.

Options would be:
1) SDK
2) Install the B1 Usability package, and my guess is a Macro could
total this for you, without using the SDK.
3) Save the record before trying to get the total.

Good luck, sorry I wasn't able to help you.

Mike

Mr.mwhite949, thanks for your reply.
I've tried your query. However, value of SumTotalCost at Title always equal
to value of TotalCost at First Row, instead of sum of TotalCost at Every
Row.
Any idea what have gone wrong?

I have run into similar problems when dealing with formatted
searches/queries in forms that have not yet been saved.
This is what works for me, try this:
SELECT SUM($[$-13.U_TotalCost.NUMBER])
I found that putting a - (negative) in front the number can fix issues like
this.

Hi all,
I have a UDF - TotalCost at Rows. This UDF is working fine.
I need to have another UDF - SumTotalCost at Title.
UDF - SumTotalCost will based on Saved Query:
SELECT SUM($[$13.U_TotalCost.NUMBER])
But the UDF is not working. Please advise.
Thanks.
