Hi,
You are correct in the case of a Common Transport Directory. Sometimes in the interest of Security the Production system is isolated and has it's own Transport Directory and does not use the global transport directory. If the two transport hosts are configured correctly the data and cofiles files are automatically copied to the production transport folder via SAP ftp. At this point the Developemnt transport logs loose visability.
