I am trying to set up a process where the Packing function of the Delivery process can automatically be done without the shipping personnel having to actually perform the function.
From the Packing function we produce labels that go on each carton for a particular group of customers. If the customer order is for a large number of cartons the shipping personnel must ?Pack? each carton. This is very time consuming.
What I would like to happen is for this ?Packing? to take place in the background and the labels print without involving the shipping personnel.
There is a function call Automatic Packing in configuration and I have some documentation on setting up Packing Instruction in R/3.
My problem is that the release we are running is 4.0 and the instructions I have do not fit the actual R/3 release we are running.
The instruction say to go to Logistic / Production / Master Data / Packing Instruction. In release 4.0 all I have is: Logistic / Production / Master Data. Packing Instruction is NOT part of the available options for Master data.
Can anyone tell where I can do the Create Packing Instruction option in 4.0?
