I have done several SAP implementations in Europe for a USD parent company.
For these implementations, the controlling area currency was USD. The local
folks (company code currency = GBP, EUR, DKK, etc.) wanted to be able to use
the amount field to partially settle capital internal orders. The only
solution we could identify was to convert the local currency amount into USD
and enter that into the settlement rule. Unfortunately, this process, due
to currency exchange rate mathematics, can result in a small difference in
the local currency amount that is actually capitalized.
I would really like to hear of any better solution anyone else has found.
