Hi Claudia.
Did you check that the SAPCONNECT service is active with Tx SICF?
Are the following parameters set in the instance profile:
icm/server_port_1 PROT=SMTP,PORT=<25*>,TIMEOUT=180
icm/host_name_full HostName.MyComapny.com
Make sure the SMTP Mail System can relay e-mails from the relavent SAP servers
