As per standard configuration it allows to check batch
management indicator whenever we extend our material to another plant, but
here in this case, we have already extended the material without batch
management and we had our business run for so many days. Now, at present we
are contemplating to activate the batch management, so our user tried to
check the Batch Management field in Material Master, but system is not
allowing to check. W
We tried many options, and to remind you, there are no open
transactions for the material in the particular plant, like SO, DLY, INV,
PO etc....but there is stock in plant, we are even planning to assign batch
no.. to the existing stock(if at all) in the next fiscal year i.e., from
April '16.
Please suggest me the solution for this.

In std it should allow to check the Batch Management field, I tried a
scenario for me system allowed not sure why for its not happening
Try creating new material with reference to existing material, then you are
able to check the field.
