Hi Yogesh,

With MSSQL it is much easier to use the Backup/Restore or the stored Procedures sp_detach_db and sp_attach_db

As described in SAP note 151603 - Copying an SQL Server database

Also, you do need to export the Java Stack from the source system and import into the target system.

Regards

Subject: Reorg Database in SAP

Hi Masters,

Please help me with my issue, we are having a production server, and we have plan to reorganize the database due to some issue in sap client (we do a system copy of qas to prd and delete the clients that came from qas but we are notice that our harddrive space will become full ) that's why we plan to reorg the tables, but the question is, it is possible to reorganize " dbcc defrag" our harddrive which is almost 2 TB of data? Any ideas how long could it take to reorg? BTW we try to reorg only 1 table and it takes an hour to reorg, how much long if we run an reorg in all tables? it is possible or not advisable?

DB: SQL Server 2008
OS: Windows Server 2008 Standard

Thanks
