Hi Prafful,
In SAP Asset accounting we have multiple depreciation areas for different
purposes.
One such being Insurance.
The point to note here is that the integration between AA & FI.
Only one depreciation area can be allowed to post to FI.
The logic goes like this -
If we set the posting control 01 for >1 depreciation areas, then for the
same asset - multiple entries will get posted to FI-GL (creating confusion
and wrong values).
This is the reason why SAP has put this check and doesn't allow >1
depreciation area to post to FI-GL.
As we read from the error description, it says to change the posting
control. But which one to be used .....I do not know.
Also i haven't worked on depreciation area for insurance, request experts
in this forum to guide us forward.

Hi Lakshmi,
I am creating this depreciation area for insurance only not for
depreciation
posting.
I have selected option "1" in GL posting but system shows error for the
same.
Could you please advice which need to be selected for creating
depreciation area for
insurance posting only not for depreciation posting. Please also advice
logic of your
solution.

Dear SAP Gurus,
I am facing a problem while configuring depreciation area for insurance.
I have created a depreciation area 02 by copying depreciation area 01,
when i am
trying to save it shows an error. In new depreciation area "posting in GL"
i
have selected 1 - Area posts in realtime, due to which system had issued
below
error.
Please have a look of below mentioned error -
Ch.of dep. ROPL: Depreciation area 02 has incorrect posting control
Message no. AC554
Diagnosis
Depreciation area 02 has an incorrect posting control. Posting control
'1',
'post assets in General Ledger realtime,' is limited to the depreciation
area
for balance sheet values (master area) and/or depreciation areas for
investment
support on the liabilities side.
Area 02 does not fall into either of these categories.
Procedure Change the posting control accordingly.
Please advice solution for the same.
