[sap-acct] Actual costing run (T-code CKMLCP)

Dear Expert,
Actually While Actual costing run (T-code CKMLCP) We are creating Variant for Period 11 2009 (for Feb 2010 as per Indian Financial year). And It found that we are not able to select Plant for which we want to run actual costing, Because by mistake we had already created last year Variant for Period 11 2009 & run selection parameters.
Now I want to delete old variant & create new variant for Period 11 2009. or kindly suggest that It will be safe that we will run same last year variant ?? Because I suspect that variant will cost only for those material which was exist last year.
