Dear Toolbox friends,
in the process of ugrading from EhP4 (701) to EhP5 (702) we have come to realize that SAP has "decommisioned" the function module SUBST_GET_FILE_LIST. We have used this function module in a handful of our custom ABAP programs, which we will now have to modify to use a different function module (or method, or whatever) to retrieve a filtered list of files from a directory on a network server.
Does anybody here know of an equivalent function module or method we can use? It must be able to use a "mask" to bring back a filtered list of files in the directory, and it must be able to work in the background (meaning that none of the "frontend services" is viable).
A quick Google search turned up an SDN post with the following possible alternatives:
EPS_GET_DIRECTORY_LISTING
EPS2_GET_DIRECTORY_LISTING
but these, like SUBST_GET_FILE_LIST are 'internal" SAP functions, not released for customer use, and, as this example makes all too clear, SAP internal functions are subject to change or elimination without notice! So what I'd REALLY like is a function that IS released for customer use that does this same job. Any clues?
