I was performing some SPAM updates yesterday, and while SPAM was working on one of them, the Basis Support Package 04 for 7.02, the update got stuck for more than eight hours and nothing would stop it. I forced the stop, restarted the server and ran startsap for Java and Abap application servers.

The Application Servers seem to come up nicely, no complaints in the logs. But I am unable to log in. When I try to log in, the 'Connecting' dialog gets stuck and nothing happens.

I brought up the management console, and I notice this message in the Process List:
Name: disp+work, Pid: 6633, Description: Displatcher, Text Status: Running but Dialog Queue standstill

When I click that line, I get a copy of dev_disp.new. I don't see anyting in the file, but perhaps someone my see something that I'm missing. Also, memory and disk space don't appear to be an issue right now.

Thanks in advance for your insight.
-Matt

Delete the log files which have been packed as a result by SPAM ( file system running full ) !!

Restart sap, dispatcher will show green ! Things like that happen after a new installation or after applying SPAM !
