Hi Lloyd,

Thank you for your response. We are trying to recommend the use of the Chief Position (A012) as the only means to identify the reporting structure and to avoid the reports to (A002) relationship altogether. This will save a lot of maintenance effort.

Users are used to seeing the relationship 'is line supervisor of' in PPOME as the Staff Assignment (structure) does not indicate that relationship with the Chief Position. You have to only assume.

Thanks for your tip anyway.

Subject: Reporting relationships using Chief Position

> When you assign relationship A/B 12 (Manages/is managed by) to position/Org Unit, the system assumption is that other position in that org unit automatically report to the chief position.
> However, this situation is not reflected in the reporting structure in PPOME for the Chief Position. Also when you use PA20 or PA30 you really can't identify who the manager of the employee is.
