It's the latter Gary...the Outbound gets created in reference to the SO,so
as you advised, I went in straight to "Assign Item Category " and entered
SaTy:OR , ItCGr:BANC , Usg:CHSP HLeveltCa:(NO ENTRY),Dflt:TAB(that's the
category shown in SO,is that correct?)
Finally,on the 2nd bit of your advice, regarding the copy control...I
presume once you are in the screen of the the Header data,do I choose Item
and then what?Sorry not familiar with this customisation,
Many Thanks for your help,
PAPJ2

Are you creating this delivery without reference to a sales order, if so then you need
to add you entry in the item category determination for deliveries Logistics Execution>
Shipping> Deliveries> Define Item Category Determination in Deliveries.
If the delivery is being created with reference to a sales order then you need to add
the entry to the item category determination for sales orders Sales and Distribution>
Sales> Sales Documents> Sales Document Item> Assign Item Categories
You would then have to add the item category to the copy control to l=allow item
category to be copied from order to delivery Logistics Execution> Shipping> Copying
Control> Specify Copy Control for Deliveries

Many Thanks Gary, the Item Category in the sales order was automatically
determined as TAB.
I cancelled the TO and tried to enter all the split batch entries into the
outbound but I got the message: No item category exists (Table T184L LF
BANC ).I then went to "Assign Item Categories" on IMG,but it wouldn't add
any new entries. I really want to add Type LF Catgrp BANC Usage CHSP
Highlvl CategoryTAN but can't add new entries there as LF is a delivery
type and not a sales type.Do need to copy one of the other entries and add
fields manually?
All help is greatly appreciated.
PAPJ2.
